She sits in front of a candle flame; her golden aura is visible around her crown. She is holy. She sits deep within the cave of gestation in meditation. The inner womb is warm and flows with red blood, pulsing a calming rhythm. Often associated with growth, menstruation, birthing and spring, she is the spirit that is evoked in planting rituals. The seed is sown in the dark earth, during the full seed moon in April or May. In ancient agricultural rituals, the sex act would take place in a frenzied festival during full moon, right before sowing the fields to ensure a good harvest. The Empress is no prude. She is a sexual being who is mother to the world, both bawdy and refined. She shines as the most capable of fostering your dreams into reality.
Grow with her. The Empress is the second in the triad of women archetypes. Allow her to nurture you for she is the ultimate mother, nurturer, and care giver. She is the spirit of our mother earth. Her rivers and oceans are her blood, her growing things are life giving. Follow her and go inward to gestate, create, and nurture your dreams. The female's ability to harbor life in her womb is our species physical way of expressing manifestation.
